Gene Autry・・・、稀代のカントリーミュージックシンガーにして、映画俳優・大実業家でもあった彼の歌は力強い国力としての第一次産業を基盤としたアメリカの良心があって、信頼が失墜した今、アメリカでも人気が復活・・・、などということがささやかれているようです。そのスケールの大きな歌いっぷりは、堂々・朗々としていて、時代を超えた男のあるべき姿さえ、鼓舞させているようであります。
