峠の我家 Roy Rogers & The Sons of The Pioneers

小学校時代にはガリ版刷りの冊子が配られて、遠足に行くときは必ず各自持参のお約束でした。

この冊子には唱歌という見出しがあって、日本・アイルランド・アメリカ・イタリアなどの民謡を中心に歌詞と音譜が書かれていました。

私が最初に好きになった歌は「Home on The Range」http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKBqz6FWvlo邦題は「峠の我家」http://bunbun.boo.jp/okera/tato/touge_wagaya.htmといいます。今でも、秋口になると脳裏をかすめるこの曲には、その後、デザインを勉強する時代になり、HomeとHouseの違いを解き明かすヒントもあって、かなり外国人の思うHomeの意味がしっかりと表れています。あくまでも、日々牛追いの生活に明け暮れるカゥボーイの心を歌った歌詞ですが、子供ながら、すっかり病み付きとなったしまいました。

間もなく、カゥボーイや西部劇映画にぞっこんとなって、家の中でもプラモデルの拳銃をぶら下げて机に向かっていた、間抜けな頃でもありました。
